DESCRIPTION:
Small Arms - Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Co of Hartford, CT, Factory Engraved No.2 Derringer pistol with British proof marks, manufactured approximately 1880, .41 caliber rim fire, exposed trigger with machined grip, steel receiver with florally engraved details, original ivory grips serial matched to this pistol, 2.5 inch barrel with top stamped "COLT'S PT.FA.MFG.Co, No2, HARTFORD, CT, U.S.A" with underside of barrel showing British proof marks, s#8930. Ivory grips are antique and original to this firearm which was made before 1900, when removed they weigh 27.6 g including their brass fittings.
CONDITION:
Good action; fine overall cosmetic condition, rifled bore with light pitting, fine barrel with partial loss of signature on barrel top, numerous small dings on frame and barrel as well as scattered areas of oxide, pitting and finish loss to side plates; trigger with light oxide; ivory grips with even yellow patina.
